A small group training Gym in New Mills like no other.
At Fitness in Mind, we don’t do quick fixes. We help you build long-term strength, confidence, and habits that last.
Our small group training blends five class types - balancing cardio, strength, form, and control - in a welcoming, supportive space.
No pressure. Just effective, enjoyable workouts that work for your life and your goals.
We are confident you will love what we do, but we don’t underestimate that it can feel like a big decision to start something new.
Here’s what you can expect when you walk through our doors.
Coaching you can trust
You’ll never be left wondering what to do. Our coaches explain everything clearly, and if you don't get it the first time, they’ll work with you to feel comfortable and confident.
Open doors, removing barriers
Our doors are literally open, shutters up, friendly faces in view. We want crossing the threshold to feel easy, welcoming, and familiar from the moment you arrive.
Sessions with purpose
Every session is thoughtfully planned, no guesswork, no wasted time. You’ll be challenged, supported, and every workout will be adaptable to where you are right now.
Coaches who truly care
Our coaches bring expertise, but delivered with kindness first. They take the time to know you, to encourage you, and to make sure you feel valued in every session.
"I am really unfit. What if I can’t keep up?"
Don’t let fear stop you from getting started. Our sessions are designed for all fitness levels, with modifications available and our helpful coaches on hand to support you. Everyone starts somewhere - we’ll meet you exactly where you are.
“I don’t think I will be able to commit the time to workout."
We get it - life is busy. That’s why we’ve designed a flexible timetable with 29 sessions a week. Our sessions are purposely short and pre-programmed, meaning you only need to take 45 minutes to get an effective full-body workout in.

We’re not just a gym. We're a community.
Join hundreds of happy members who've all reimagined their relationship with exercise.
“From the moment I met Laura on my gym tour I knew I was in good hands. Three months later I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and feeling really good for it.”
Sam D.
Eight years ago, I wasn’t someone who exercised regularly. I didn’t feel fit, and the thought of a HIIT session filled me with dread. I was convinced I’d be rubbish and I was scared of feeling like the “new person” who didn't belong.
I finally worked up the courage to start and as I started moving more, things began to shift. Not only did I start feeling physically stronger, but I started feeling mentally stronger too.
I realised I didn’t have to be good at everything. I just had to keep showing up. And the more I did, the better I got.
But I hated the messaging that gyms are purely there for weight loss and the endless "before and after" photos. I was more interested in how exercise made me feel rather than how I looked.
So I created Fitness in Mind to be something completely different in the face of traditional gyms.
A space where movement feels enjoyable, where progress is personal and not judged on a scale, and where fitness is for longevity not for punishment.
So if you've ever felt “I’m not a gym person” or “exercise isn’t for me”, I’ve been there and you're welcome here.
The hardest part is walking through the door. We’re here to make sure that when you do, you feel like you’re right where you belong.
